The police said that the woman passed away from the injuries she sustained in the crash that occurred on Tuesday, April 28th. The preliminary report showed that Brown was driving a Nissan Altima that broke down in the right-hand lane of the southbound US 183, north of US 290.

The deceased was in a stationary position when a box-truck rear-ended her at about 12:20 p.m. The medics took Brown to the hospital, where she passed away at approximately 1:12 p.m. while receiving treatment.
The police did not state if the unidentified box truck driver sustained any injuries, and they do not plan to charge him or her with an offense. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and anyone with helpful information should contact the APD vehicular homicide unit on the listed line.
Brown’s death is the 32nd the city of Austin has recorded this year, which is seven above the number it had at this time last year. Traffic officials relying on accident reports believe that negligence of drivers is the primary cause of otherwise avoidable accidents.
Drivers are advised to avoid distractions when driving, maintain the speed limit, and avoid all forms of carelessness. Also, motorists whose cars break down on the road should park away from oncoming traffic and call for help immediately.
