Daniel Picado, a family friend to the deceased, shared an emotional tribute to them, describing Thomas as a great engineer and a true leader. He also described Stacie as a great person who was pure in heart. Picado further said that Thomas and Stacie complemented each other well, and always enjoyed doing things together.
Authorities revealed that Thomas was an engineer with Intel Corp. in Chandler. The ill-fated small plane was registered to him, with online flight records showing that it took off from Chandler at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
According to accident reports, the plane was trying to land when it crashed with its nose down. It is not yet known why the plane attempted to land in the first place. The United States Airforce immediately notified the County Sheriff’s Office about a possible plane crash in the area and provided them with the coordinates.
Authorities are yet to release any further information about the plane crash, but the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing with investigations.
