The driver lost control of the vehicle from that point, and it slid past the bridge, spun around sideways, and traveled into and across the center median. From there, the Jeep went into the southbound lanes, sliding across it and hitting a guardrail, before rolling and resting on its roof.

McAlister, who was from Pueblo, Colorado died from the extensive wounds he sustained. He had two passengers identified as Anne McAllister, 52, and Dezerai Maul, of Pueblo, who suffered severe injuries.

The medics took the two to the Coon Memorial Hospital, and at the time of this report, they are in stable condition. The accident is under investigation, and the public will receive an update of any new information.

Accidents aren’t uncommon in Texas, and they regularly claim lives or leave the victims injured. Authorities have acknowledged that while drivers do not cause some accidents, they should remain vigilant while on the road, and obey traffic laws.

The TDPS has also advised residents to always report car accidents as soon as it occurs to give first responders a chance of getting to the victims on time. The act would save lives and help reduce the fatality rate.
