A Lilburn resident, 34-year-old Zachary Stringer, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Interstate 85, March 8.
Around 5 p.m. traffic began to slow down on the interstate. In front of Stringer was a Tesla and an Acura, all heading northbound. As the Tesla slowed for traffic, the driver of the Acura, who was following closely behind them, swerved to the right in hopes of avoiding a collision.

When the Acura swerved, Stringer, who was behind both vehicles, continued moving northbound. First, Stringer hit the back of the Tesla. The impact from this collision sent him into the back of the Acura.
Reports did not indicate if Stringer was ejected from the motorcycle during the accident. It was not released in the reports if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision or not.
Emergency personnel responded to the accident. They were able to transport Stringer to the hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained. A report on Monday said that his injuries were too extensive, and he had died while he was at the hospital.
Nobody else was hurt in the accident. The driver of the Acura did receive a traffic citation for driving without a license.
The northern lanes of the interstate were partially blocked while the scene was cleaned up. Investigators investigated the circumstances around the accident. No one was cited for the accident that occurred between the two cars and the motorcycle.
