Paramedics at the scene of the accident transported the two passengers of the truck to a local hospital. They were last listed to have suffered from moderate injuries.

The driver of the truck was identified as 21-year-old Keven Aranda.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the pickup truck was going eastbound on 24th Street when it drove off of the roadway and into a barrier near Myrtle Street.

Police determined that Aranda was driving under the influence at the time of the accident. The report did not indicate if Aranda received any injuries in the accident, but he was taken to Kern County Jail where he is being charged with a felony DUI causing injury.

The names of his passengers have not been released, nor have their ages. It has not been determined the extent of the injuries that they sustained in the accident.

Aranda’s blood-alcohol level was not made known to the public. The charges that Aranda has been booked for are only preliminary.

Until the accident investigation is completed, Aranda’s full charges will not be known.
