Additional police cars joined in on the chase that eventually ended when Costello hit two cars at the beginning of the overpass for Fore River Bridge and then crashed on the bridge.
Costello had three passengers in the vehicle with him. His father, a 17-year-old girl and a 4-year-old child. It did not appear that there were any injuries in the accident.
Costello was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges in conjunction with the accident. These charges include the negligent operation of a vehicle, failure to stop for the police, leaving the scene of an accident, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a minor.
The 17-year-old was also taken into custody and arrested at the scene of the accident. She attempted to change seats with Costello prior to the police approaching the vehicle.
They didn’t release her name, nor did they release if she was being held.
Costello went before a judge on Friday regarding the charges. He is currently being held without bail.
The release did not specify the relationship between the 17-year-old and the 4-year-old to Costello or his father.
The police are currently investigating why Costello ran from them when they initially tried to pull him over.
