The vehicle came to a stop along a fence row facing southeast in direction.

Police say that the accident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. EST.

Montoya suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported from the scene of the accident to Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Illinois State Police did issue Montoya a citation in the accident. They cited him with improper lane usage.

There is no report if Montoya has been released from the hospital or the severity of the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The Illinois State Police have not released the official cause of the accident. They did not indicate if impairment was the reason Montoya ran off the road. It is a possibility that Montoya was simply tired from extensive driving.

The citation for improper lane usage in Illinois can carry a fine of up to $1000 and possible court supervision for a period of 24 months.

The accident is still being investigated by the Illinois State Police.
