Authorities have identified the woman found dead last week after a single-vehicle crash near Crystal Falls Township.

Glorious T. Ross, 56, of Bark River, was found dead inside the vehicle, which was found Friday afternoon lying on its roof at the bottom of a steep embankment, according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities didn’t immediately disclose whether Ross died from injuries sustained in the wreck or from other factors.

Deputies said they were called to the scene of a traffic crash in Crystal Falls Township at 3:03 p.m. Friday. The crash apparently had occurred on U.S. 141 near the intersection of Kohon Road.

Investigators arriving on scene located a vehicle that had gone over a guard rail and fallen down a steep embankment and was laying on its roof. Deputies said Ross was found deceased inside the vehicle.

It is still unclear what led to the crash, according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Department. The crash remains under investigation.

Iron County deputies were assisted by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Iron County Search and Rescue, the Michigan State Patrol and the Crystal Falls Fire Department.
