Police have identified the man killed in an apparent hit-and-run crash last week in the Buena Vista area.
Anthony Burke Jr., 34, of Southeast, died from injuries sustained in the crash, which occurred at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the 2400 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast. Police said he was rolling in the roadway when he was run over by a vehicle traveling northbound in the left lane.

The suspect vehicle then fled the scene without stopping to render aid, according to authorities.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. Burke was transported to an area hospital where life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead from his injuries, according to a Metropolitan Police Department press release.
The case remains under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit.
