Police arrested four unidentified teens after a carjacking resulted in a high-speed pursuit and then a rollover crash on Friday, Feb. 7.

At about 5:50 p.m. in Vallejo a man parked near the Marina Vista Apartments, 201 Maine St., and asked a teen girl for directions to a local restaurant. She allegedly enticed the Oakland man into the apartment complex and then sprayed him with pepper spray. At the same time, a teen boy, allegedly armed with a gun, came to the teen’s apartment. Reports indicate they stole the man’s wallet, cell phone and car keys.

The teens then stole the man’s vehicle, a 2007 Dodge pickup truck. Approximately 30 to 45 minutes later, Benicia police spotted the vehicle heading eastbound on Interstate 780. A high-speed chase ensued going from Benicia, in Solano County, to Martinez, in Contra Costa County, and back to Vallejo, in Solano County. The chase continued into the Glen Cove area of Vallejo where the driver took a turn too quickly at Rollingwood Drive, lost control, and flipped the vehicle.

The chase ended about 6:20 p.m. California Highway Patrol air units assisted in the chase.

The teens suffered minor injuries and medical staff looked them over before being booked.

At the time the chase ended, four teens were in the pickup truck. The two suspected in the carjacking were booked into Solano County juvenile hall. Authorities released the other two to their parents.

Authorities will not identify the teens, as they are all 16 and 17 years old. The all live in the Benicia and Vallejo area.
