ALPINE, CA – Authorities say a young woman was airlifted to the hospital following a hit-and-run pedestrian collision in Alpine on Wednesday morning.
According to Times of San Diego, the incident happened at around 11:15 a.m.

A 19-year-old woman was struck from behind while walking southbound on the west side of South Grade Road near the Manzanita View Road intersection.
The vehicle, of an unknown make and model, did not stop at the scene and fled southbound, said California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow.
The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital by helicopter transport.
Officials urge anyone with information regarding the accident or the driver to call the CHP at 619-401-2000.
