A tragic accident took place in Mesa, Arizona yesterday, February 3rd, that resulted in the death of a 6-year old boy. The accident took place at the corner of Jensen Street and Power Road. The boy was standing at the intersection, waiting to cross the street when a semi-truck turned onto Jensen Street.
The driver of the semi-truck misjudged the turn and accidentally took it too sharply. The back end of the truck veered off the road and came up onto the area where the boy was standing. The boy was struck by the back then of the truck and sustained severe injuries.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital, however, medical workers were not able to save his life when he arrived. The injuries were simply too severe. The boy died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The area around the accident scene was closed by police so that they could conduct their investigations. The driver of the semi-truck has not currently been arrested or charged with anything at this time. However, he is cooperating with police and is answering all of their questions.
He was apparently not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The accident appears to be caused by a simple and tragic driving mistake. However, the investigation is not over. The six-year-old boy was the only victim of the accident. Despite the fact that the truck rolled up onto a pedestrian area, no one else was struck by the back end of the truck fortunately. The driver sustained no injuries.
