A Kennewick resident was badly hurt as the result of a hit-an-run alleged DUI accident in Richland on Tuesday.
53-year-old Troy Simms of Kennewick was hurt Tuesday evening after his vehicle was struck by a reportedly drunk driver in Richland.

Per reports from the Washington State Patrol, 33-year-old Tyler E. Adolf, also of Kennewick, was driving east on Highway 240, right by the area of Aaron Drive, and he hit Mr. Simms’ vehicle. At the time of the accident, the victim’s car was stopped at the intersection. The accident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. local time.
Adolf, the other driver who hit Troy Simms’s car, ditched his vehicle and escaped on foot.
Mr. Simms sustained unknown injuries and was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Law enforcement officers later apprehended the suspect. He currently faces DUI and felony hit-and-run charges.
DUI ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Per the information from the initial reports, Adolf’s liability seems to be clear in this incident as he reportedly was driving while intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation in Richland.
