Authorities say the officers were parked on the eastbound side of Camarillo St, when a westbound Mini Cooper crossed the oncoming lane and struck their vehicle.
A sergeant standing outside the car was struck and sustained a concussion, head lacerations and potentially a broken arm. Another officer in the passenger seat was injured but described to be in good condition. Both were transported to a nearby hospital and are expected to recover.
Investigators believe the Mini Cooper’s driver fell asleep at the wheel after working a long shift. He was not arrested.
