PINE VALLEY, CA – The driver of a semi-truck and their passenger died in a crash in an embankment off I-8 Wednesday night, reports News 10.
Emergency crews received reports of the crash around 7:50 a.m. The driver of the semi-truck strayed off the road, struck a bridge, and then went down a dirt embankment.

The truck erupted into flames upon impact, trapping the driver inside.
First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Investigators later discovered the body of an unidentified male in the wreckage.
Identities of the victims will be revealed once their next of kin have been notified of their passing.
