SANTEE, CA – A pilot and one victim on the ground were killed when a small aircraft crashed into a residential neighborhood on Monday, ABC 7 reports.
The plane, a Cessna 340, received multiple warnings that it was flying too low but did not ascend. It was attempting to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport but instead it crashed into a UPS van and a nearby house.

The pilot and the UPS driver were both killed. Two people were also injured, included a woman rescued by neighbors from her burning home shortly before an explosion in that house.
Another house was also destroyed but it was empty at the time. An investigation from the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to reveal more information regarding the cause of the crash.
