EMTs quickly arrived on the scene and rushed the four injured people to the hospital. No one was killed in the accident. However, the extent of the injuries sustained is unclear.
The accident was caused by a 22-year-old woman who did not yield at an intersection and crashed into a Nissan Altima being driven by a 56-year-old woman. It was the Nissan Altima that ended up striking the bus stop and the people at the bus stop.
The victims of the accident were a 24-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and the woman driving the Nissan Altima. Of the four victims, the 24-year-old man suffered the worst injuries. However, the injuries of the other two males involved in the accident are also serious.
The cause of the accident is believed to be a simple driving mistake as opposed to impairment due to the driver being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The bus stop will have to be rebuilt because it was severely damaged in the incident.
