SANTA CLARITA, CA – A teenage girl is in the hospital after sustaining major injuries when her scooter was struck by a car on Wednesday, local news reports.
The accident occurred around 8 p.m. on Sierra Highway near Dockweiler Drive. The victim was hit by a southbound Kia sedan and suffered major injuries on her right leg.
When paramedics arrived they applied a tourniquet and took the victim to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
Santa Clarita police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
