LA JOLLA, CA – A SUV crashed into Harry’s Coffee Shot at 7545 Girard Avenue Wednesday morning, sending two people to the hospital, reports KGTV.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after getting reports of the accident around 10 a.m.

Officials say the SUV was driven by an elderly man who crashed into the bathroom after mistaking the gas for the brake pedal.
The crash was also responsible for a gas leak on the property. Harry’s Coffee Shop and businesses next to it were evacuated.
In addition to the two hospitalized, a dishwasher was bruised and refused further treatment. The condition of the two hospitalized is not known at this time.
Three people were in need of medical treatment for injuries due to the SUV crash, with two of them taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. The third person, a dishwasher, had a bruise from bumping into a sink, but declined further treatment.
