Paramedics and fire crew with the Redding Fire Department responded quickly as the incident occured in front of Fire Station 5. The driver and Dominguez, his passenger, suffered minor injuries, and medics took the latter to a local hospital for evaluation.

The police said that Ireland and his passenger wore seatbelts, and their airbags deployed accurately. Officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol contributed in any capacity. They disclosed that the crash affected cable lines, and they fell across Hartnell Avenue.

The RPD closed the roadway briefly while they cleared the lines from the road and collected evidence of the crash. The Redding Police Traffic Unit is handling the investigation into the occurrence, and the conclusion would determine if there would be charges against the motorist.

Accidents of this nature are caused by factors like speeding, impaired driving, or distracted driving. Drivers should desist from the preceding to avoid collisions and adverse legal consequences.
