The Georgia State Patrol received a call Tuesday morning, February 11, about a car in a ravine at Russell Parkway and Housers Mill Road in Peach County.
The Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks was called to the accident scene and confirmed that the woman dead inside the car was the missing 86-year-old Sallie Brinkley of Warner Robbins.

Brinkley’s family had dinner with her on Sunday after church, like they always do. She even called to let them know that she had made it home safely. That was the last time that they heard from her.
There was a lack of activity at Brinkley’s house on Monday morning which caused alarm for friends and workers in the area. Her son-in-law went to the house and found that the woman’s car and purse were missing.
Soon after, the family began distributing her photo to the police and local media outlets hoping that someone could assist them in finding her.
The Warner Robbins Police Department asked for help from the Houston, Bibb, and Peach counties to be on the lookout for the woman and her car.
That was when the call came in about the car in the ravine.
Rooks stated that it was a possibility that Brinkley was in the accident on Sunday, but nobody noticed the car in the ravine until Tuesday. If not for the workers nearby who noticed the car, there is also a possibility the car would have gone unnoticed for a lot longer.
The family believes that it is possible that the elderly lady had left the house on Sunday to pick up her prescriptions. While she was out, they believe that she could have ended up lost or confused.
There has been no confirmation that any underlying illnesses could have caused her to end up in the ravine. The Georgia State Patrol did indicate that the cause of the crash is an ongoing investigation at this time.
