The man who struck a police officer before crashing his car in Port Arthur, Texas, would need a car injury attorney’s service. On Monday, May 18th, the Port Arthur Police Department identified the victim as one of their own, Officer Rondal Bingham.
In a press release by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said that the accident that sent the lawman to the hospital occurred on Friday, May 15th. Officer Rondal and a male colleague were investigating a loud noise complaint at approximately 10:40 p.m. in the 5100-block of 7th Street.

The two men were standing in a grassy area near a patrol car when they saw a ’95 Chevrolet pickup truck coming towards them at top speed. They lawmen realized they were in danger of getting hit, and attempted to jump out of harm’s way.
Officer Rondal was not quick enough as the Chevrolet collided with the patrol car, which knocked the victim down. Davis said the pickup went off the road and rested after striking a tree. The lawman sustained injuries, and an ambulance conveyed him to a local hospital for treatment.
The man has since been released and appears to be in good health. The TDPS said the driver of the speeding vehicle, identified as Malachi Sparks Wright, 27, of Port Arthur, did not sustain injuries.
Investigators determined he was intoxicated while driving, and took him into custody on suspicion of DWI. They charged the suspect with intoxication assault and booked him into the Jefferson County Jail, hence the car injury attorney. His bail is set at $125 000.
