The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. Jan. 3. She drove into the car in front of her down Harlem Avenue starting at the 1600 block near North Riverside. She then crashed her car at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Ogden Avenue.

She then drove south through this intersection and crashed into three other cars, according to police reports. After the crash, Beachem attempted to run from police officers. The officers had to physically restrain her.

Beachem did not suffer life-threatening injuries after the crash. However, emergency medical services did take her to McNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, to be treated.

During the investigation, police had to close down the intersection of Ogden and Harlem for about an hour and a half. The other people who were involved in the crash are all expected to recover. The accident also caused damage to traffic light equipment.

Beachem has been charged with reckless driving, DUI, no insurance, failure to avoid an accident, resisting a police officer, and following too closely.
