BAKERSFIELD, CA – Bakersfield police say they are searching for the driver that fled from a fatal pedestrian collision on Thursday night.
According to ABC 23, the pedestrian was struck by a car at the intersection of Chester Avenue and West Columbus Street shortly before 8:30 p.m.

When responders arrived, they found the victim in critical condition. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared deceased.
Officers were told by witnesses that the vehicle was street-racing and fled the scene after the collision.
