In the preliminary report, the Grayson Police Department stated that the tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, May 19th, at about 6 p.m. It happened precisely on Bennett Road near Reserve drive.

The investigators responded to a single-vehicle crash, and when they arrived at the scene, they found Baker unresponsive. They pronounced him dead and sent his body to the coroner for identification and an autopsy.
The police later determined that Baker was traveling on the eastbound lane of Bennett Road towards Reserve Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve rightly. He veered off the roadway and ended up striking a tree. The impact left him with fatal injuries.
