Pihera also reported that the police didn’t have the victim’s identity because there was no form of identification on him at the time of the crash. Officers took him to the hospital for treatment, where medics pronounced him dead the following day. His death was as a result of the injuries he sustained after the crash. Further reports indicate that Woo Kim may have been under the influence before he ran into the roadway.
The police also said that the driver and passenger of the vehicle that struck the victim were unhurt after the accident. The driver will also not face any criminal charges at this time.
The police remain unsure as to why Woo Kim was in the roadway at the moment of the collision. Evidence suggests that he was being influenced by drugs or alcohol or both. However, the police have requested an autopsy, and after its completion, they will have a clearer picture to determine the cause of the accident.
Accident reports list drugs and alcohol as a major factor in many of the collisions occurring on the roadway. Drivers must avoid driving under the influence, while pedestrians must be in their complete senses before walking on the roads.
