SAN DIEGO, CA – At least three people were injured in a wrong-way driver crash involving five vehicles on southbound I-5 on Saturday afternoon.
According to Times of San Diego, the crash happened after a red Honda Civic was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-5 near State Route 905 around 2 p.m. The Honda struck a Toyota Tacoma.

It is unclear how the other three vehicles involved in the crash. However, California Highway Patrol reported debris from the accident was spread across all lanes of southbound I-5.
CHP reports one passenger sustained a broken leg and at least two other people sustained unknown injuries.
The left lanes of southbound I-5 were closed while local authorities investigated and cleaned up the crash site.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
