SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – Officials with the California Highway Patrol say a motorcyclist died after crashing off State Route 76 in unincorporated Valley Center on Saturday afternoon.
According to Times of San Diego, the incident occurred near Palomar Mountain at 3:32 p.m.

Troopers say the rider was heading westbound on SR-76 when he veered across oncoming traffic and crashed off the left side of the roadway.
When authorities arrived, they discovered the victim, a 66-year-old Mission Viejo man, with major trauma after striking a tree.
An air ambulance was called to the scene, however, he was declared deceased at 4:10 p.m.
