The Fresno Police Department says the truck driver was heading eastbound on Ashlan Avenue, just west of Cedar Avenue, and attempted a legal left turn into a parking lot.
While crossing the westbound lane, the truck struck an oncoming motorcycle, critically injuring its driver.
Emergency responders rushed to stabilize the motorcyclist’s condition, however, police say he passed away while being transported to the hospital.
The motorcycle was found beneath the front of the truck.
The truck driver, who was not injured, told police that he did not see the oncoming motorcycle when trying to turn into the parking lot.
Westbound traffic on Ashlan Avenue was temporarily closed following the collision.
