LA PRESA, CA – A motorcyclist and child were injured in a collision at the intersection of Maria Avenue and San Diego Street on Friday morning.
According to Times of San Diego, a Nissan Altima, driven by a Spring Valley woman, was traveling west on San Diego Street. A Honda CBR motorcycle, driven by a Spring Valley man, was traveling north on Maria Avenue. As the Nissan traveled through the intersection the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the car.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle. It is unclear if he was wearing a seat belt or not. He was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital for serious injuries.
A child in the back of the Nissan sustained a laceration to the head. The child was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Police report intoxication is not a suspected cause.
