The car accident report disclosed that the crash happened around 8:15 a.m. Sunday. The San Jose Police said that a 2007 white work van traveled west on Alum Rock Avenue at top speed. The vehicle entered an intersection at Alexander Avenue and failed to stop at a solid red light. The van collided with a southbound 2002 red Nissan Maxima driven by Agredano. The impact left the man with severe injuries, and he died at the scene.

Jauregui was a passenger in the van, and the medics transported her to a local hospital where she died from her wounds. The driver of the truck was uninjured, and the police arrested the individual on charges of vehicular manslaughter, and reckless driving.

The investigation into the occurrence is ongoing. Driving through a red light is a traffic offense under the California Vehicle Code. The law provides that when at an intersection, drivers should stop before the dividing line if they don’t have the right of way.

Wait for oncoming vehicles to drive through before proceeding. Observe carefully, and ensure there are no red or yellow right runners trying to beat the stop sign.
