A 62-year old man was killed in North Phoenix on Wednesday, January 29th when a vehicle being driving by a 77-year old man struck him while he was pushing a wheelchair. The crash occurred at around 7:00 am Wednesday morning on Bell Road, near 23rd avenue.
The man who was killed was crossing the road, but the signal changed before he could make it to the other side. The 77-year-old man did not stop in time and he struck the man. The man did not die instantly and was rushed to the hospital. However, his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The 77-year-old man did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It was just an unfortunate circumstance.
