BAKERSFIELD, CA – A pedestrian was killed in East Bakersfield after he was hit by a car on Thursday night, ABC 23 reports.
The victim was attempting to cross the street near the intersection of Niles Street and Virginia Street. He was outside of the crosswalk when the accident occurred around 9 p.m.

The driver remained at the scene and police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
