San Diego police say the man was standing outside his 2017 Toyota Corolla to buckle his 7-year-old son into a car seat. A vehicle heading westbound in the parking lot veered left and hit him, crushing him against his vehicle.
The suspect vehicle then sped away from the scene and fled west of the parking lot. No description of the vehicle has been provided.

The collision forced the Corrolla to rotate counterclockwise and hit an adjacent vehicle.
