A 58-year-old man identified as Kenneth Ulibarri died after an auto crash on 46th and South Parker Street, Amarillo, Texas. Accident reports state that the Amarillo police arrested an unidentified man involved in the crash.
The incident happened around 3:40 PM on Tuesday, May 26. The police said that the suspect, man from Amarillo, was traveling southbound on Parker Street. At the same time, Ulibarri, also of Amarillo, was driving eastbound.

The suspect failed to stop at a red light, causing him to strike Ulibarri’s vehicle. Following the impact, the latter’s car smashed into private property on South Parker’s 4600 block. The suspect’s vehicle went ahead to hit a utility pole, which caused it to flip over.
Response officers found Ulibarri dead at the crash scene. However, the suspect came out of his vehicle and fled into hiding. Findings showed that DPS Criminal Investigation Agents had been searching for him for his involvement in a felony assault case before the accident happened.
The Investigation Agents soon discovered the suspect in his hiding place in a shed that was close to the location of the accident. They transported him to a hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.
The suspect was arrested afterward and charged with Accident Causing Death and Murder in addition to his Felony Warrant.
According to accident reports, authorities will release his identity after his jail booking. The crash remains under investigation by Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad. No other information about the incident is available at this time.
