Motor vehicle accidents occur for otherwise preventable reasons, and drivers can mitigate them by following safety tips. The latter covers paying attention to the roadway, obeying stop signs, and using exit and turn signals before making a turn.
Before proceeding from a stop sign, spell stop, and look left-right-left before driving through an intersection. After refueling, check the level of the oil and other fluids, look for noticeable leaks throughout the engine compartment, and be extra careful as other drivers on the roadway are likely to make a mistake.
There should be at least a four-second space between vehicles and stay on the right when driving on a two-lane road. Park on the slow lane to make calls, and avoid stepping out of the car.
