The two vehicles collided where the road intersects with Material. The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries, and the police did not cite him. The RPD Traffic Unit is investigating the incident and might bring charges at the conclusion.
Motor vehicle accidents occur due to otherwise avoidable issues and are preventable if drivers follow safety tips and take precautionary measures when on the road. When about to enter a roadway, pull into traffic slowly, and take note of blindspots using rearview mirrors and windshields.
Watch for red-light runners, count to three before entering an intersection, look both ways to ensure no one is running a yellow light, and exercise caution when passing semis. Reduce distractions like eating, talking, calling, changing CDs, and ensure that at least one hand is on the steering wheel.
Children and animals have a habit of suddenly appearing on the roadway, so watch out for the two. Perform engine maintenance regularly, scan the road 12 seconds ahead, look backward when backing out, do not tailgate, and be courteous to other road users.
