The SPD Spokesman Sgt. Louis Defense said that Maben was one of the drivers the officers tried to stop, but he refused to pull over. The police then chased him down the roadway, with the pursuit coming to an end when the man crashed into a patrol vehicle.
The lawmen took the suspect into custody and booked him into the Cobb County Jail. The latter’s records show that Maben is a homeless man, and he is facing eight charges arising from the crash. He is charged with two counts of violation of a traffic control device, and a count each of eluding police, and reckless driving.
The suspect is also facing single counts of failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions, driving on a suspended license, and operating a motor vehicle without registration or a valid license plate. The authorities set Maben’s bail at $9, 020 bond, and he will remain in custody until he perfects it.
There is no additional information about the incident at this time. Those involved in a police chase crash should hire a car accident lawyer for legal advice and representation.
