CORONADO, CA – Residents in the Imperial Beach area lost power yesterday morning when a vehicle collided with a utility pole in Coronado, NBC 7 San Diego reports.
The crash took place on CA-75 northbound, just south of the bird sanctuary, at about 10:15 a.m. on April 25. While the circumstances of the crash remain unclear, a photo taken at the scene showed a passenger vehicle with substantial front-end damage. Smoke was pouring from electrical equipment nearby.

Emergency responders shut down the area for some time after the incident. At least eight households were still without power more than 10 hours later, and the utility company expected to finally have the power restored by midnight.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
