SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was killed and eight were injured in a failed human smuggling attempt off the coast of San Diego, reports ABC 7.
Lifeguards rushed to rescue the people from the water around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Ten people were rescued by the lifeguards. Eight of the ten rescued required hospitalization. One person was pronounced dead at the scene after their body was found underwater.
