POWAY, CA – NBC San Diego reports that a semi truck collided with a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer on Tuesday afternoon. According to the news report, the accident occurred on State Route 67 near Poway Road a little after 1 p.m.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a Dodge Ram crashed into a ravine off the roadway. The horse trailer that the Ram had been towing was further down the road.

Investigators said that the pickup truck was traveling on southbound SR-67 when the driver veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the semi.
A horse in the trailer was killed as a result of the accident. The driver and passenger of the Ram were transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
