A 30-year-old woman was killed in an accident at the corner of Pond Springs Road and U.S. 183 North last Thursday night, Texas accident reports state.
On Wednesday, news emerged that a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death.

The victim is Ginger Mattox and the man who was involved in the accident is Gary Joseph Brauneis.
Investigators with the Austin Police Department revealed that Brauneis was driving his 2010 Mazda M3i north on the U.S. 183 service road.
His car rear-ended a 2014 GMC truck that had come to a halt at a red light on Pond Springs Road.
The impact of the collision shoved the truck into the intersection while the Mazda kept traveling north until it went on to the sidewalk and hit the victim.
The car continued until it smashed into a building.
The driver of the GMC was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The unnamed individual suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Mattox was admitted to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and she later died from her injuries.
Brauneis was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter and DWI and booked into the Williamson County Jail.

This accident was the 34th fatal vehicular accident in Austin for 2020 so far, based on official accident reports. These accidents have resulted in 36 fatalities. At this time in 2019, 33 accident-related deaths had been recorded.
The survivors of some of the victims may have grounds for filing wrongful death claims.
