VERNON, CA – Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a fire that started in a lumber yard in Vernon on Friday morning.
According to KFIAM, firefighters were dispatched around 9:20 a.m. to the 3500 block of East Washington Boulevard. They were able to put out the flames in roughly 30 minutes.

Officials say over 100 new railroad ties were damaged.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
