FRESNO, CA – Firefighters responded to a fire at a west-central Fresno home on Thursday morning, reports Your Central Valley.
Fresno Fire Department said the blaze began in the attic of a residence near the intersection of North Fruit Avenue and West McKinley Avenue at around 2:30 a.m.

Crews successfully contained the fire before it spread beyond the kitchen.
The family inside evacuated after noticing sparks flying from the attic and the smell of smoke. It is unclear when they will be able to safely return.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
