KERN COUNTY, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a fatal pedestrian collision on State Route 138 on Wednesday night.
According to the CHP, the accident occurred at the Avenue W intersection at 7:29 p.m. The preliminary report stated the victim was struck by a black Ford Fusion and then a second vehicle.

The eastbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the collision.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they discovered the pedestrian lying in the center of the roadway. Authorities confirmed a fatality but did not provide further details.
