CERRITOS, CA – One person was killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision along the San Gabriel River Freeway early Monday morning.
The accident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. when two vehicles collided in the carpool lane near the exit to South Street, according to My News LA.

One of the vehicles became engulfed in flames moments later. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. However, at least one person was killed as a result of the crash.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
