BAKERSFIELD, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a busy street in southeast Bakersfield Saturday evening.
According to Bakersfield Now, the accident occurred when the pedestrian was crossing at the intersection of Texas Street and MLK Blvd. at about 5:30 p.m.

The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital with major injuries. Unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries a short time later.
Officials have not yet released any information with regard to the suspect involved in the accident. However, the vehicle was located a few blocks away from the scene of the crash.
