LOS ANGELES, CA – An elderly woman was killed and her husband was injured Saturday morning when a suspected drunk driver slammed into their Crenshaw home while fleeing police.
ABC 7 reports that the crash happened in the 3900 block of South Buckingham Road shortly after 1:20 a.m. The elderly couple became trapped when a car collided with their bedroom.

Aida Villavicencio, 85, died at the scene. Her 92-year-old husband was taken to a nearby hospital with critical head injuries. Their adult daughter told reporters that the couple had recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Two police officers who extricated the victims from the bedroom received minor, unspecified injuries, but declined hospitalization.
The chase that led to the fatal collision began when Eliseo Ixchopcalel, 26, slammed into the back of a patrol car near the intersection of Hobart and Martin Luther King Boulevards. He then fled the scene as the officers approached his vehicle.
Ixchopcalel was also injured in the crash, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter.
