Johnson, who was driving an SUV, failed to yield and was hit by Finch’s vehicle. Finch had 44-year-old passenger Leskisha Nicole Washington and a 1-year-old child in the car at the time of the accident.
Finch was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by medical personnel. Washington and the child were transported with life-threatening injuries. Later news releases indicated that Washington had succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. They did not mention the child during the announcement.
Johnson has been taken into custody by the APD and remains at Potter County Detention Center. Pending charges include intoxicated manslaughter, intoxicated assault, and injury to a child. These charges could change as a result of Washington’s death.
