LOS ANGELES, CA – The female driver responsible for a weekend hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a pedestrian turned herself in to police on Tuesday.
According to KTLA, the incidnet occurred around 6:55 a.m. Sunday when an unidentified male pedestrian was crossing at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Street.
The man was struck by the driver in a dark Dodge SUV while walking in the designated crosswalk. The driver got out and checked the damage to her vehicle before speeding away from the scene.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The suspect responsible for the crash, who has not yet been identified, was arrested on a charge of felony hit-and-run.
